Comments: Thanks again to the band for allowing me to attend and participate in a recent rehearsal.I heard you in Durham at the Gala and then again on the Sun. at the park in Gateshead so it was remarkable anybody had any lips left for the Tues. rehearsal. Nevertheless you tackled a wide range of music with enthusiasm and I enjoyed the experience.Both your Conductor and practice venue were new to me.Keep up the good work and I'm sure we shall meet again. Comments: great to see the band is still going, when i worked at Eccles i used to pay towards it each week. i often wonder how it was going and if you managed financially. the rest of shire has gone as is Backworth and just about everything in that area that was my youth, the lines, pit heap, dicky pond, coal washers, tanky's, sidings, the loco sheds on a winters night burning bright, the treat, pit canteen plate pies, all gone. I'm no dinosaur, but what replaced it all is "crap"
