Gavin Dudley joined the band in 2010 after a long absence from playing. He now plays bass trombone and is the band’s secretary.
“I loved seeing all the brass bands at the Durham Miners Gala but never imagined I could join one.
Then one day my wife said she loved brass bands too and would love to play in one.
We contacted the band and here I am! I’m still working on getting my wife to learn to play!”
Gavin is a Governor of North Tyneside Music Education Hub and is leading their project “North Tyneside Brass in Schools” which runs after-school brass groups in 3 local Primary Schools.
He also plays in Newcastle-based street band Meze Mundo.
